The Errachidia province is set to develop a significant cultural complex, backed by an investment of 120 million dirhams. A partnership agreement has been signed to launch this major project, aimed at enhancing cultural infrastructure and revitalizing artistic life in the Drâa-Tafilalet region.
An Investment of 120 Million Dirhams for Culture
Authorities signed a partnership agreement on Saturday in Errachidia for the construction and equipping of a new cultural complex totaling 120 million dirhams.
This initiative is part of the national strategy for developing cultural infrastructure and aims to provide the residents of the province with modern spaces dedicated to creative expression, artistic dissemination, and the promotion of heritage.
Funding will be provided by several institutional partners, including the Drâa-Tafilalet Regional Council, which will contribute 60 million dirhams.
A Modern Cultural Hub in the Heart of Errachidia
The future cultural complex will encompass several facilities designed to meet the needs of cultural stakeholders and the general public.
The project includes plans for a large theater with 1,000 seats, a media library, an arts institute, a heritage interpretation center, a multifunctional cultural center, as well as an exhibition space.
These infrastructures aim to enhance access to culture, encourage local talent, and host significant artistic and cultural events.
Multiple Partners Mobilized to Realize the Project
The partnership agreement was signed by Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication; Essaid Zniber, Wali of the Drâa-Tafilalet region and Governor of Errachidia province; Hro Abrou, President of the Drâa-Tafilalet Regional Council; Said Karimi, President of the Errachidia Municipal Council; as well as Mohamed Benjelloun, Director General of Al Omrane Drâa-Tafilalet.
This collective effort reflects the shared commitment of various institutional stakeholders to strengthen cultural facilities and support the territorial development of the region.
A Lever for Regional Development
Beyond its cultural function, this complex is expected to bolster Errachidia’s attractiveness by creating a new space for meetings, training, and artistic expression.
The project will also promote the cultural heritage of the Drâa-Tafilalet region while stimulating economic activities linked to cultural industries, tourism, and events management.
