GALENICA Achieves a Historic Milestone by Exporting Its Medications to Russia

Major Breakthrough for Moroccan Pharmaceutical Company GALENICA

The Moroccan pharmaceutical laboratory GALENICA has marked a significant milestone in its international development by becoming the first lab in the Kingdom to market its medicines in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), which includes Russia. This breakthrough underscores the export potential of the Moroccan pharmaceutical industry and strengthens economic cooperation between Rabat and Moscow.

Crucial Certification for Accessing the Eurasian Market

This first export represents a strategic step for GALENICA, which has achieved GMP certification and received EAC Marketing Authorizations (MA). These approvals now allow the laboratory to market its products in the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, paving the way for a sustainable presence in this high-potential market.

A New Momentum for Moroccan-Russian Pharmaceutical Cooperation

According to Alexey Andreev, the trade representative of the Russian Federation in Morocco, the development of the Moroccan pharmaceutical industry fosters the emergence of new cooperative opportunities between the two countries.

He noted that, in addition to importing Russian medications and local production projects in Morocco, the conditions are now in place for Moroccan laboratories to supply the EEU market with pharmaceutical products.

According to the Russian official, the arrival of GALENICA’s medications in Russia illustrates this new dynamic partnership. He emphasized that the Moroccan laboratory is the first in the Kingdom to have obtained all the necessary regulatory authorizations to market its products in this expansive market.

Several Therapeutic Specialties Already Available in Russia

GALENICA’s medications are already being distributed in Russia across several therapeutic areas, including gastroenterology, the treatment of cold-related conditions, and other medical specialties.

This success confirms the rise of the Moroccan pharmaceutical industry in international markets and could pave the way for other national laboratories seeking to expand within the Eurasian Economic Union.
