Bank Al-Maghrib and the Ministry of Agriculture Unite Their Data to Enhance Public Policies

Bank Al-Maghrib and the Ministry of Agriculture Strengthen Cooperation
Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests have enhanced their collaboration. The two institutions signed a partnership agreement aimed at establishing a permanent framework for data, information, and expertise exchange in the fields of statistics and economic forecasts related to agriculture, maritime fishing, as well as water and forest management.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to improve the quality of economic analyses and to provide public decision-makers with more reliable information to support the Kingdom’s development policies.
Data Supporting Decision-Making
The agreement was signed in Rabat by the Wali of Bank Al-Maghrib, Abdellatif Jouahri, and the Minister of Agriculture, Ahmed El Bouari.
The convention establishes a structured mechanism allowing both institutions to share their databases, studies, and analytical work to enrich their respective missions and better track the economic developments in the agricultural and rural sectors.
Joint Studies and Research Projects
Beyond information sharing, the partnership also envisions conducting joint studies and research projects on strategically important themes.
These efforts aim to produce in-depth analyses that can inform public decisions, especially in a context marked by challenges related to food security, climate change, and sustainable management of natural resources.
Enhancing Team Skills
The convention also includes a component focused on training and skill development.
Training programs, exchange of expertise, and capacity-building initiatives will be organized for the collaborators of Bank Al-Maghrib and the Ministry of Agriculture to foster knowledge sharing and improve economic analysis methods.
Cooperation for Development
Through this partnership, Bank Al-Maghrib and the Ministry of Agriculture aim to enhance the coordination between their teams and to equip themselves with more effective statistical tools to anticipate economic changes in the agricultural sector.
This cooperation is expected to contribute to improving the quality of public policies, supporting the sustainable development of the agricultural sector, and accompanying the major economic transformations initiated by the Kingdom.
