Morocco-Nigeria: GIDNA Aims for a New African Momentum

Morocco and Nigeria are continuing to strengthen their cooperation around major infrastructure projects and economic development. This momentum was showcased on August 17, 2026, in Casablanca, during a visit hosted by GIDNA for a significant delegation of high-ranking Nigerian government officials.

The delegation included representatives from several key sectors, notably public finance, defense, energy, water resources, health, higher education, and administrative reform.

A Meeting Focused on Governance and Efficiency

This visit was part of the executive program “From Policy to Impact: Delivering Measurable Results,” which was organized in Casablanca to address issues of leadership, governance, and operational efficiency.

On this occasion, GIDNA presented its journey, governance model, and various technical expertise to the Nigerian officials. Additionally, the company showcased several of its achievements, highlighting Moroccan know-how in the construction and infrastructure sectors.

The discussions allowed for the identification of several avenues for cooperation on large-scale infrastructure and equipment projects in Nigeria.

Opportunities for Moroccan Businesses

Beyond the technical presentations, the meeting explored the opportunities presented by the Nigerian market and potential avenues for enhancing exchanges between businesses from both countries.

For GIDNA, this opening could lead to new collaborations in executing complex projects, leveraging the experience and operational capabilities developed in Morocco.

The company also praised the organization of this high-level meeting, particularly thanking Ms. Hasnaa Boutzil for her contribution to its preparation.

Morocco and Nigeria at the Heart of South-South Cooperation

This meeting occurs within the framework of a gradually strengthening Moroccan-Nigerian relationship centered around several key projects. It also aligns with a broader vision of South-South cooperation, founded on the economic complementarities between African countries.

The Atlantic African Pipeline, designed to connect Nigeria to Morocco while serving several West African countries, stands as one of the hallmark projects of this dynamic. The agro-industrial cooperation between the two nations, particularly concerning the complementarity of Moroccan phosphates and Nigerian gas, represents another significant aspect.

These initiatives aim to promote regional integration, co-industrialization, and the creation of value chains on an African scale.

GIDNA Aims to Support Major African Projects

In this context, GIDNA intends to leverage its expertise and references to drive this cooperation dynamic. The company believes that infrastructure development is a crucial lever for enhancing economic exchanges and fostering sustainable growth across the continent.

The Casablanca meeting thus illustrates the desire to bridge the skills and needs of various African markets, fostering partnerships capable of yielding tangible results.

For GIDNA, the ambition is to contribute to a more integrated Africa, where businesses on the continent can mobilize their expertise to design and execute infrastructure that meets the needs of populations and economies.

A cooperation model built on trust, complementarity, and skill sharing could serve to rejuvenate economic relations between Morocco and Nigeria.
