Provisional Commission Reveals Seven Appointed Publishers for National Press Council

On Wednesday, the Provisional Commission tasked with exercising the functions of the National Press Council and organizing the election of representatives for professional journalists announced the list of seven publishers selected to serve on the Council.

This announcement marks a significant step towards completing the establishment of the National Press Council, in accordance with the legal provisions governing the representation of publishers.

After reviewing the applications and documents submitted by the candidates, the Commission has selected seven publishers who meet the required legal criteria. They are Bahia El Amrani, Souad Mekkaoui, Mehdi Allabouch, Aziz Daki, Driss Chahtane, Mokhtar Ghzioui, and Khalid Hariry.

The selection process was conducted based on Law No. 09.26 concerning the reorganization of the National Press Council, Law No. 88.13 related to press and publishing, as well as the regulatory decision adopted by the Commission.

The appointment of these seven representatives follows the election of professional journalists’ representatives and represents a new step towards establishing the structures of the National Press Council.

The forthcoming steps will aim to finalize the procedures outlined by law and to officially launch the Council’s missions.
