Safran Invests 120 Million Dirhams in a New Venture in Morocco

Safran Expands Its Industrial Footprint in Morocco
French aerospace group Safran is continuing its industrial development in Morocco. On Wednesday, October 7, at the Marrakech Air Show 2026, the company signed an agreement for the establishment of a new activity dedicated to lubrication systems and fluid management for aerospace engines.
The project, finalized with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Investment, and AMDIE, in partnership with Safran Oil Systems, represents an investment of 120 million dirhams and is expected to create 100 jobs.
A Core Activity in Aerospace Engines
The upcoming facility will specialize in lubrication systems intended for aircraft engines. These components play a crucial role in the operation of engines, particularly in fluid management and maintaining performance and reliability.
With this new endeavor, Safran is adding a significant new component to its industrial framework in Morocco. The project aligns with the goal of developing local skills in technological fields that are vital to the aerospace value chain.
Strengthening Nouaceur and Midparc
This new facility complements the existing operations that Safran has already established in Morocco across various segments of the aerospace industry, such as engines, equipment, electronics, defense, and maintenance.
Additionally, the project bolsters the position of Nouaceur and Midparc as major industrial hubs for aerospace in Morocco. These platforms already host a significant number of companies engaged in equipment manufacturing, assembly, industrial services, and aerospace maintenance.
The introduction of a new activity directly linked to engine systems will gradually expand the industrial depth of this ecosystem.
A New Element in the Engine Value Chain
One of the main challenges of the project lies in its technological positioning. Lubrication systems and fluid management are vital components in the functioning of aerospace engines and require specialized industrial skills.
This new activity emerges as Safran simultaneously develops significant projects in the engine sector in Morocco. The group has notably announced an industrial complex dedicated to LEAP engines in Nouaceur.
The development of lubrication systems thus complements this dynamic and could aid in expanding Moroccan competencies surrounding the aerospace engine value chain.
The Moroccan Aerospace Industry Continues to Enhance Its Level
This project fits within a Moroccan aerospace industry that has progressively organized itself around component manufacturing, assembly, equipment, engineering, and maintenance.
Morocco now boasts over 150 players in the aerospace sector, with exports from the industry exceeding 26 billion dirhams in 2024.
With its investment of 120 million dirhams, Safran is adding a specialized new activity to this ecosystem. The implications go beyond the mere creation of 100 jobs: the project contributes to broadening the range of industrial professions in Morocco and developing skills in technologies directly related to aerospace propulsion systems.
