Legislative Elections 2026: Voter Turnout Reaches 38.02%

Voter Turnout for the 2026 General Legislative Elections Reaches 38.02% Nationwide

The participation rate for the 2026 general legislative elections has reached 38.02% nationally, as reported Wednesday evening by the Ministry of the Interior. The election, which concerns the selection of members for the House of Representatives, concluded at 7 PM in line with legal provisions.

Overall Smooth Conduct of the Election

According to data provided by prefectures, provinces, and district prefectures across the Kingdom, national participation stands at 38.02%. The Ministry of the Interior has noted that, aside from a few isolated incidents affecting a limited number of polling stations, the electoral operations proceeded normally across all regions of the country.

Following the closure of the polling stations, the counting and tabulation of votes commenced immediately. These processes are conducted in the presence of representatives from the candidate lists and initially focus on local electoral districts before transitioning to regional districts.

Official Reports Sent to Central Offices

Once their duties are fulfilled, the polling stations send the reports generated during the electoral operations to the central offices. This step facilitates the counting of votes obtained by the various candidate lists in their respective districts.

The process then continues at the level of commissions responsible for tallying the votes. These commissions, presided over by magistrates, are tasked with verifying the results and announcing them according to procedures outlined in electoral regulations.

Results to Be Announced Following Vote Counting

For local districts, the determination of results is based on the reports established by the central offices. For regional districts, the counting commissions rely on reports derived from operations conducted at that level.

It is upon the completion of this procedure that the official results of the election and the names of the elected candidates for the House of Representatives will be announced.
