Abdellatif Hammouchi, the Director General of National Security (DGSN) and Territorial Surveillance (DGST), presided over a ceremony on Tuesday in Rabat to distribute housing to ten widows of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. This initiative pays tribute to agents who fell “in service to the security of the homeland and citizens”.
The beneficiaries were welcomed at the open days organized by the General Directorate of National Security, where this social measure took the form of an official handover of apartments designated for the families of police officers who died while fulfilling their missions. The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) also reiterated its commitment to supporting “orphans and widows of police officers who have passed away in the performance of their professional duties.”
Housing Granted to Families of Police Officers Who Died in Tragic Circumstances
Among the beneficiaries are the widows of several police officers who died during criminal cases or accidents that occurred while they were carrying out their official duties. The announcement specifically mentions the case of an officer who died in Imouzzer after being attacked by “a person suffering from mental health issues,” as well as police personnel who lost their lives in traffic accidents while on duty.

The ceremony in Rabat also served as a reminder of the social assistance mechanisms available to national security personnel. The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) emphasizes that it has allocated significant resources to the Mohammed VI Foundation for Social Works of National Security Personnel to enhance its mission dedicated to developing medical, social, and solidarity services for police officers.
The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) Continues to Expand Social Support Programs for Police Officers
The Moroccan security authorities present this measure as a concrete reflection of the social policy implemented for the benefit of the national police members and their families. “All necessary resources and means have been made available to the Mohammed VI Foundation” to improve the services provided to national security personnel and their loved ones.

For several years, the General Directorate of National Security has been multiplying programs dedicated to the social support of police officers, including medical coverage, assistance to grieving families, and access to housing. The open days held in Rabat regularly provide the institution with the opportunity to showcase this social aspect alongside its public safety and citizen protection missions.
