Alert Bulletin: Snowfalls and Heavy Rain in Several Regions of Morocco
The General Directorate of Meteorology anticipates significant disruptions, featuring snowfall and heavy rain, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms, from Friday to Saturday across various regions of the Kingdom.
Snowfall in the Mountains
In an orange alert bulletin, snowfall is expected in mountainous areas exceeding 2,000 meters in altitude, with accumulations ranging from 10 to 25 cm.
These conditions will affect the provinces of Ouarzazate, Azilal, Midelt, Tinghir, and Al Haouz, starting Friday at 6 PM until Saturday at 10 AM.
Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm Risks
Significant precipitation, varying between 20 and 40 mm, is also forecast, with a risk of thunderstorms.
The impacted provinces include Tinghir, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Azilal, Béni Mellal, and Midelt, during the same timeframe.
Other areas, notably Errachidia, Boulemane, and Figuig, are also expected to be affected on Saturday, from 9 AM to 6 PM.
A Call for Caution
Meteorological authorities urge citizens to exercise caution, particularly in mountainous regions and on roads that may be affected by snowfall and heavy rain.
