The “Génération Tétouan” Exhibition Celebrates a Decade of Artistic Creation in Rabat
The Bank Al-Maghrib Museum officially opened the collective exhibition “Génération Tétouan: New Visions, Plural Perspectives” on Thursday in Rabat. This significant artistic event showcases works from a new generation of Moroccan artists trained at the National Institute of Fine Arts in Tétouan (INBA). The exhibition runs until February 1, 2026.
Organized in partnership with INBA, this event immerses the public in innovative creative processes led by graduates from the Institute between 2015 and 2025, who are now recognized for their contributions to the contemporary art scene.
The Bank Al-Maghrib Museum Highlights Emerging Talents
In a speech delivered on his behalf, Rochdi Bernoussi, the director of the Bank Al-Maghrib Museum, emphasized that this exhibition is a vital opportunity to celebrate national artistic creation. He highlighted the Museum’s commitment to supporting young artists and encouraging their innovative creative efforts.
According to him, this initiative reflects the Museum’s desire to help shape the artistic landscape of Morocco for the future by providing a platform for promising and engaged creators.
INBA Tétouan: A Nursery for Contemporary Artists
For his part, Mehdi Zouak, the director of INBA, reminded attendees of the Institute’s central role in nurturing emerging talents. He added that the artists featured in this exhibition stand out due to their creative freedom, boldness, and ability to assert themselves on both the national and international artistic scenes.
The exhibited works—including painting, sculpture, video, and conceptual installations—reveal a remarkable diversity of approaches and a pronounced artistic renewal.
Contemporary Works with Rich and Varied Themes
Among the featured artists:
Rahma Lhoussig, who explores the realms of dreams and memory through compositions steeped in poetry.
Imane Laâribi, whose works revisit the aesthetics of the 1960s to question the evolution of consumer society.
Nafie Ben Krich, creator of satirical works centered around a symbolic “hen” representing the loss of ethical reference points.
Khadija El Abyad, who examines femininity, memory, and resistance through the theme of hair.
Mohamed Noujmi, who transforms worn materials into conceptual sculptures.
Moad El Bissaoui, whose works draw inspiration from chess to address power relations.
Omayma El Guerssifi, who translates geological forms into organic artistic structures.
Khadija Jayi, who continues her exploration of the transformation of industrial materials.
Kamal Saki, who reflects on the passage of time through oxidation and monochromy.
Mouhcine Rahaoui, who stages the memory of the miners from Jerada.
Sofyane Hajoubi, who explores immersive technologies to create environments blending reality and virtuality.
A Free Exhibition Open to the Public
Featuring works by eleven graduates of INBA over the past decade, the “Génération Tétouan” exhibition offers a refreshed perspective on contemporary Moroccan creation. It is open for free to the public from Tuesday to Sunday at the Bank Al-Maghrib Museum.
