Incom Strengthens Its Presence in Morocco with the Upcoming Opening of a Third Factory in Tangier
The Spanish group Incom continues its industrial expansion in Morocco. Its third production site in Tangier is set to become operational by the summer of 2025, reaffirming the Kingdom’s attractiveness for players in the renewable energy sector.
Morocco at the Heart of Incom’s Growth Strategy
The Spanish company Incom, specializing in the manufacture of components for wind turbine blades, is solidifying its industrial presence in Morocco. The group plans to complete construction of its third factory in Tangier by the end of July, marking a significant milestone in its international development plan.
This new establishment underscores the strategic role Morocco now plays in the Spanish manufacturer’s operations, particularly within the renewable energy sector.
Rapid Growth of Moroccan Operations
According to Spanish economic media, the production units in Morocco have become a vital link in the group’s operations. They are helping to meet the growing demand in the African market while also supporting exports to the United States, the company’s principal international outlet.
Juan Antonio Vidal, the CEO of Incom Composites, emphasizes that the Moroccan subsidiary has witnessed remarkable progress over the last few years. Starting as a small operation with only about fifteen employees, it now employs nearly 300, thanks to the continuous expansion of its activities.
Annual Revenue of €25 Million in Morocco
The Moroccan operations of Incom currently generate an estimated annual revenue of €25 million. The group intends to continue its investments to support the strong dynamics of the renewable energy sector in the Kingdom, particularly in the wind equipment industry.
This strategy is set against a backdrop marked by the acceleration of energy transition projects and the development of industrial infrastructure in Morocco.
Reorienting After the Siemens Gamesa Site Closure
Incom’s entry into the Moroccan market occurred in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Initially, the company supplied industrial components to Siemens Gamesa for its wind turbine production activities.
However, the closure of the Siemens Gamesa factory in Tangier prompted the Spanish group to reassess its position and diversify its growth opportunities in the country.
Nador: The Next Strategic Development Axis
The company is also benefiting from the rise of new industrial projects related to wind energy. The arrival of the Chinese group Aeolon in Nador, specializing in wind turbine blade manufacturing, opens new prospects for the entire industrial ecosystem in the sector.
Incom’s leaders view Nador as a future strategic development platform. Ongoing logistics projects and new port infrastructures are expected to further enhance the region’s attractiveness to international investors.
Expansion in Morocco Despite Restructuring in Spain
While its Moroccan operations continue to grow, Incom is simultaneously restructuring its main production site located in Elda, Spain. This reorganization has led to the departure of 136 employees from a total workforce of around 400.
Despite this context, the group is reporting solid results. Its revenue reached €112 million in 2024. The company also has production units in Albacete as well as industrial sites in Poland and India.
Morocco Attracts Spanish Investors
Incom’s experience in Morocco was recently presented at an economic forum held in Valencia, focusing on the investment opportunities offered by the Kingdom. The event brought together several Spanish business leaders as well as Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour.
Participants highlighted Morocco’s numerous advantages, particularly its strategic geographic position, the quality of its infrastructure, and the rapid development of sectors related to digitalization and industrial automation.
