Morocco–DRC: Strengthened Relations in Rabat

On Friday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, received the President of the Senate of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge, in Rabat. As a special envoy of President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, he delivered a message intended for His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Strong Historical Relations Between Morocco and the DRC
Following their meeting, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge emphasized the depth of the historical ties between Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He also praised the consistent support of the Kingdom for the DRC, showcasing the strength of diplomatic relations between the two African nations.
Morocco, a Key Player on the African Scene
The Congolese official highlighted Morocco’s significant role in Africa. He pointed to the Kingdom’s commitment to stability, development, and continental cooperation.
According to him, Morocco currently positions itself as an essential strategic player in African relations.
Discussions on Issues of Mutual Interest
This meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss several matters of common interest between the two countries.
The discussions notably focused on:
