Morocco: New Car Sales Exceed 131,000 Units in the First Half of 2026

The Moroccan market for new cars continues its positive trajectory in 2026. Driven by strong demand, sales continued to rise in June, confirming the robust health of the automotive sector in the Kingdom.

In June 2026, there were 27,193 new vehicle registrations, representing a 16.72% increase compared to the same period last year. This performance is in line with the growth observed since the beginning of the year.

Over the first half of 2026, total sales reached 131,748 units, reflecting a 17.6% increase compared to the first six months of 2025. The market continues to expand, having recorded a historic total of 235,372 vehicles sold throughout 2025.

Passenger Cars Lead the Market

The passenger car (PC) segment remains the main driver of this growth. In June, 24,649 vehicles were sold, marking a 15.7% year-on-year increase.

Since the start of the year, this segment has totaled 116,802 registrations, also showing a growth of 17.6%, indicating a sustained demand from Moroccan households.

Significant Growth for Light Commercial Vehicles

Light commercial vehicles (LCVs) are also experiencing favorable development. Sales reached 2,544 units in June, up by 27.9% compared to June 2025.

For the first six months of the year, this segment has totaled 14,946 vehicles sold, reflecting a 17.5% increase. LCVs now account for 11.3% of the national automotive market, highlighting a resurgence in investment from businesses and professionals.

A Historic Year Ahead in 2026

Considering the performances recorded since January, the Moroccan automotive market seems well-positioned to break new records in 2026. The continued growth in sales, improvement in the economic climate, and resurgence of investments all contribute to sustaining this positive momentum.
