Regional Multi-Service Company Souss-Massa Holds Board Meeting

On Friday, May 22, 2026, the Souss-Massa Regional Multi-Service Company held a board meeting chaired by the wali (governor) of the Souss-Massa region. The meeting was attended by board members, representatives from relevant sectors, and company executives.

This session focused on monitoring the implementation of the company’s programs and evaluating its technical, financial, and commercial performance as part of the ongoing reform and modernization efforts for services related to drinking water, electricity, and wastewater management in the region.

In his opening speech, the wali commended the efforts made by all components of the company, particularly the executives, managers, and technical and administrative staff, to ensure the continuity and quality of essential public services for users.

He emphasized the necessity of further enhancing management efficiency, strengthening good governance principles, and improving monitoring and management mechanisms to increase the company’s performance and better serve the citizens.

Furthermore, the wali highlighted the importance of accelerating the implementation of key projects related to water and energy security, which are considered major strategic initiatives for the region, while continuing to support various territorial development programs.

During the meeting, company officials presented a range of indicators reflecting the evolution of its performance. The turnover reached nearly 4.17 billion dirhams, while the gross operating surplus amounted to 443 million dirhams. The collection rate from private clients reached 97.2%, with over 51,000 complaints processed and a completion rate close to 99.79%.

The company currently employs 1,427 staff members and operates 52 branches and customer service centers. Additionally, more than 3.1 million SMS messages have been sent to users as part of efforts to enhance digital communication and improve services.

In the drinking water sector, the company distributed approximately 94.7 million cubic meters of water, with an average mobilization exceeding 3,000 liters per second to meet the population’s needs. The region has 226 reservoirs, totaling a storage capacity of 233,000 cubic meters, ensuring an estimated autonomy of 22 hours. The distribution network yield reached 74.8%, showing improvement compared to 2024, while the service access rate neared 97%.

In the electricity sector, the company operates 23 substations with an installed capacity of 1,307.7 MVA, against a demand of 581 MVA. The distribution yield reached 92.65%, marking a notable improvement compared to the previous year, alongside ongoing modernization operations in the networks and strengthening of technical infrastructure, particularly in vital and tourist areas.

Regarding wastewater treatment and the reuse of treated wastewater, the company manages 19 treatment plants and 71 pumping stations across a network exceeding 4,032 kilometers. The volume of reused water reached nearly 7 million cubic meters in 2025 as part of efforts to promote environmental projects and sustainable water resource management.

The council’s proceedings concluded with a shared commitment to continue mobilizing technical, human, and financial resources to support the significant development projects in the Souss-Massa region and to reinforce the ongoing dynamic in managing essential public services.
