Tata: A Campaign to Raise Awareness about Water Conservation Led by SRM-SM

The Souss-Massa Regional Multi-Services Company blends water resource preservation, social responsibility, and support for education.
As part of ongoing efforts to safeguard water resources and promote responsible consumption, the Souss-Massa Regional Multi-Services Company (SRM-SM) is participating in the organization of a sensitization caravan in the province of Tata, in coordination with local authorities and relevant stakeholders. This initiative aligns with the provincial decision aimed at enhancing collective mobilization for the preservation of this vital resource.
In the face of challenges related to water stress, this initiative is founded on a participatory approach that places awareness at the heart of water preservation efforts. It primarily targets students in educational institutions, as well as civil society actors, to strengthen collective awareness and encourage the adoption of eco-responsible behaviors.
Local actions to instill a culture of water conservation
Scheduled from October 27 to 30, 2026, the caravan will make several stops at schools and municipalities throughout the province, along with a meeting dedicated to civil society actors.
The proposed activities aim to raise awareness among participants about the importance of water in daily life, the consequences of waste, and simple actions that can help optimize water consumption. They will also emphasize the significance of reporting leaks to limit losses and contribute to better preservation of water resources.
Through these local initiatives, SRM-SM aims to foster the sustainable establishment of good practices, especially among younger generations, making water conservation a daily behavior shared by families, schools, and the wider community.

Social responsibility at the core of the approach
Beyond its environmental dimension, this caravan reflects SRM-SM’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), through an approach that combines ecological awareness, educational support, and solidarity.
In this context, booklets and awareness-raising materials focused on water conservation will be distributed to beneficiaries. The initiative will also be accompanied by a schooling support action, involving the distribution of school supplies to the involved students.
This dual approach aims to enhance the educational and social impact of the caravan while promoting the values of solidarity, citizenship, and environmental responsibility. It illustrates SRM-SM’s desire to align its actions with a dynamic of sustainable territorial development, attentive to both the protection of natural resources and the needs of the population.

A collective mobilization to preserve water resources
This initiative highlights the importance of coordination among SRM-SM, local authorities, institutional actors, educational institutions, and civil society. The complementarity of these interventions serves as a crucial lever to broaden the scope of awareness-raising efforts and enhance citizen engagement in water preservation efforts.
Through its participation in this caravan, SRM-SM reaffirms its commitment to responsible management of water resources, complementing technical actions taken to improve network performance and reduce water losses.
Preserving water is a collective responsibility. Raising awareness today means protecting this vital resource and preparing a sustainable future for generations to come.
