The OFPPT and TGCC Join Forces to Train Construction Talents in Morocco

A Strategic Partnership to Enhance Workforce Development
To support the significant development projects underway in the Kingdom, the Office for Vocational Training and Employment Promotion (OFPPT) has formed a strategic partnership with the TGCC group. This collaboration aims to strengthen the training of future professionals in the construction and public works sectors.
The framework agreement, signed at the Cité des Métiers et des Compétences de Casablanca-Settat, aims to align training programs more closely with the actual needs of companies in the sector. This initiative responds to the increasing demand for skilled labor amid the launch of numerous infrastructure projects across the country.
Tailored Training to Meet Market Demands
Through this collaboration, both partners intend to design new educational programs that reflect the evolving landscape of the construction sector. The agreement also includes strengthening trainer qualifications and developing apprenticeship opportunities to facilitate the professional integration of young graduates.
The goal is to prepare a new generation of technicians and specialists who can meet the technical requirements of businesses and support transformations in the sector.
An Exchange of Expertise Between OFPPT and TGCC
Under this agreement, OFPPT will leverage its expertise in pedagogical engineering to support TGCC. The public institution will assist the group in training its workplace mentors, share its know-how regarding skills development, and facilitate access to information about its training offerings as well as the profiles of its graduates.
TGCC employees will also benefit from qualification training provided by the Office to enhance their skills and support their professional growth.
TGCC’s Role in Modernizing Training Programs
For its part, TGCC will bring its practical experience to enrich the educational content offered by OFPPT.
The group will participate in updating training programs in construction and public works, organize advanced training sessions for instructors, and contribute to equipping OFPPT facilities with modern educational materials tailored to the sector’s needs.
Professional Immersion for Future Graduates
The partnership also includes the placement of OFPPT trainees on TGCC job sites, especially those enrolled in apprenticeship training programs.
Supervised by the group’s teams, these future professionals will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience, develop their technical skills, and enhance their employability before entering the job market.
Over 29,000 Training Opportunities Available This Academic Year
According to Loubna Tricha, this collaboration demonstrates a shared commitment to better align vocational training with labor market expectations and to build an efficient ecosystem dedicated to developing competencies.
Meryem Nazih Cherkaoui echoes this sentiment, stating that human capital has been the principal driver of the group’s growth for over thirty years.
This agreement comes as OFPPT continues to expand its training offerings in construction and public works. The organization currently operates eleven specialized institutes and four Cités des Métiers et des Compétences dedicated to this field.
For the upcoming academic year, more than 29,000 educational slots will be available in the construction and public works disciplines throughout the Kingdom. This offer includes over 22,800 places in degree programs, 5,200 places in qualification courses, and more than 1,000 places for professional development pathways. Additionally, the Cités des Métiers et des Compétences will provide nearly 800 extra places to meet the growing demand for qualified profiles.
