The SRM Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Achieves Accreditation for Its Quality Control Laboratory According to the NM ISO/IEC 17025:2018 Standard

Rabati-Salé-Kénitra Multiservices Regional Company (SRM-RSK) Announces Laboratory Accreditation

The Rabati-Salé-Kénitra Multiservices Regional Company (SRM-RSK) has announced that its quality control laboratory has been accredited according to the NM ISO/IEC 17025:2018 standard. This accreditation, awarded on October 6, 2026, by the Ministry of Industry and Trade through the Moroccan Accreditation Service (SEMAC), certifies the technical competence and impartiality of the laboratory in conducting tests encompassed by its accreditation scope.

A Monitoring System Dedicated to Water Quality

The Quality Control Laboratory monitors the quality of the drinking water distributed by SRM-RSK as well as wastewater. This oversight relies on a rigorous process that extends from sample collection to the validation of results.

For drinking water, samples are collected at various points within the distribution network according to a surveillance program designed to ensure their representativeness. They are transported to the laboratory under controlled temperature conditions, where they are received, registered, and examined. Subsequently, the samples are routed to specialized units for physicochemical and microbiological analyses in accordance with standardized protocols.

Daily Sample Collection

Between January 1 and August 31, 2026, the laboratory analyzed 6,768 samples taken from networks under the jurisdiction of SRM-RSK’s Provincial Directorates, encompassing 32,021 bacteriological parameters and 63,312 physicochemical parameters. This monitoring is supplemented by 167,689 chlorine tests, which help track the effectiveness of water disinfection in the distribution network.

An Extensive Coverage of Drinking Water and Wastewater

The accreditation covers ten microbiological and physicochemical tests concerning both drinking water and wastewater. These analyses facilitate the detection of bacteria indicative of contamination, assess certain characteristics of drinking water, and evaluate the pollutant load present in wastewater.

A Commitment to Quality and Continuous Improvement

With this accreditation, SRM-RSK reaffirms its commitment to quality and the continued improvement of its services, enhancing the trust of citizens and partners in the reliability of its laboratory’s analytical results.

On this occasion, SRM-RSK’s General Director, Ms. Fatima Guennouni, stated, "The quality of water is a fundamental requirement of our public service mission. This accreditation acknowledges the competence and rigor of our teams and reflects our commitment to continually strengthen the reliability of our monitoring systems."
