Weather in Morocco: Persistent Heat and Storm Risks in Several Regions on Saturday, June 13
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, Morocco will experience varied weather conditions, with high temperatures expected in several regions of the Kingdom and a risk of localized thunderstorms, according to forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology.
High Temperatures in the South and Interior
The heat will continue to settle in the southeastern regions of Morocco, as well as in the eastern and southern saharan provinces. Relatively high temperatures are also anticipated in the Saïss, Gharb, Oulmès regions, the plains west of the Atlas Mountains, southern Oriental, and the interior Souss region.
Nocturnal temperatures will range from 24°C to 29°C in the warmest areas of the country, while they will fluctuate between 10°C and 16°C in the mountainous areas of the Atlas.
Thunderstorms and Localized Heavy Showers
Unstable clouds could develop during the day over the High and Middle Atlas, the Oriental region, and the southeast of the Kingdom. These cloud formations may lead to thunderstorms accompanied by hail in some areas.
The Saïss region, the phosphate plateaus, and Oulmès, as well as the northeast of the southern provinces, may also be affected by these showers. During the night, sporadic rain accompanied by thunderstorms remains possible over the Rif and the Mediterranean coastline.
Fog and Strong Winds in Certain Areas
Low clouds and fog formations are expected over the Atlantic plains and the Mediterranean coast, particularly during the early hours of the day.
Additionally, fairly strong gusts of wind will blow over the Tanger region, the southeast of the country, and the saharan provinces, potentially creating local dust storms.
Sea Conditions
The sea will be calm to moderately rough in the Mediterranean and the Strait of Gibraltar. Between Tanger and Asilah, conditions will remain similar, while rough seas are expected between Asilah and Laâyoune. Along the rest of the Atlantic coastline, the sea will be calm to moderately rough.
