Meeting of the Joint Commission between OMPIC and EPO
The OMPIC and the EPO held their joint committee meeting from September 24 to 26, 2025, at the EPO headquarters in Munich, Germany, under the leadership of Mr. Abdelaziz BABQIQI, Director General of OMPIC, and Mr. Antonio CAMPINOS, President of the EPO.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the progress of cooperation projects between the two offices, particularly in the areas of information technology, the enhancement of examiner capabilities, and the promotion of innovation.
Additionally, it was a moment for both parties to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the cooperation agreement concerning patent inventions and to highlight the very positive results of this decade of collaboration.
At the conclusion of this meeting, both offices reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthen their partnership through the signing of a new cooperation program for the 2026-2027 period. This program will encompass activities in the fields of patent examination and issuance, IT infrastructure, training, and raising awareness among stakeholders regarding industrial property.
