Abdelwahab Doukkali Ignites the Mohammed V Theater with an Exceptional Concert

Mohamed V National Theatre in Rabat Hosts a Spectacular Return of Moroccan Music Legend
On Friday night, the Mohamed V National Theatre in Rabat resonated with the enchanting melodies of Moroccan music legend Abdelwahab Doukkali, in an unforgettable concert marking his triumphant return to the stage after a long hiatus.
This magical evening allowed the audience to reconnect with Doukkali’s unique musical world, as he emotionally performed some of his most iconic songs, including “Marsoul el Hob,” “Kan ya makan,” “Mana Illa Bachar,” and “Kataajabni.” The singer and composer, exuding his legendary charisma, ignited the stage in perfect harmony with an audience that joyfully sang along to his most beloved tracks.
Through songs imbued with sensitivity, Doukkali celebrated human values of peace, love, and brotherhood, transporting spectators of all ages into a realm of dreams and emotions. The artist also paid tribute to poet and composer Abderrafie Jaouhari, as well as the renowned singer Abdelhalim Hafez, whom he described as someone who “conquered the hearts of the Arab world with his soul and the uniqueness of his art.”
In a post-concert interview, the Moroccan music tenor expressed his joy at reuniting with his fans and praised the warm welcome he received. He felt honored to perform on such a prestigious stage as the Mohamed V Theatre, a venue that has hosted renowned artists from around the globe.
Supported by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, this event allowed Doukkali’s fans to relive the artistic legacy of an icon in Moroccan music, in an atmosphere rich with creativity and nostalgia.
Born in 1941, Abdelwahab Doukkali is one of the greatest names in classical Moroccan and Arab music. From a young age, he received training in music, theater, and painting before embarking on his artistic career in 1957.
