World Cup 2026: 5 Million Tickets Requested in 24 Hours, Brazil-Morocco Already Among the Most Popular!

FIFA Reports Record Demand for 2026 World Cup Tickets
In the first 24 hours of the new random selection draw phase for the 2026 World Cup, five million ticket requests were submitted, a figure that highlights the immense global demand for the tournament, according to FIFA.
Early data reveals a strong interest in high-stakes group stage matches: the Colombia vs. Portugal game (Miami, June 27) currently leads in ticket requests, followed closely by the Brazil vs. Morocco match (New York/New Jersey, June 13), as stated in a FIFA press release.
Rounding out the top five are the Mexico vs. South Korea match (Guadalajara, June 18), Ecuador vs. Germany (New York/New Jersey, June 25), and Scotland vs. Brazil (Miami, June 24). The same source points out that these five matches feature nine teams from five continents.
Ticket requests have come from over 200 countries and territories through the FIFA.com/tickets platform since the opening of this third sales phase.
In addition to the three host countries—Canada, Mexico, and the United States—the ten most represented countries by residency in the ticket requests include Colombia, England, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Scotland, Germany, Australia, France, and Panama. The notable presence of South American nations, along with Scotland’s return to the World Cup after a 28-year absence, underscores the global excitement surrounding this edition.
The draw phase remains open until Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM ET (5:00 PM CET). FIFA reminds fans that the timing of their requests has no impact on their chances of being selected. Supporters can choose their matches, ticket categories, and desired quantities, within limits set per household. An official resale/exchange market will open on December 15, 2025.
Fans can visit FIFA.com/tickets for FAQs, legal documents, and official draw rules. Participation does not require any purchase obligation, but any successful request will result in an automatic charge to the authorized payment card. Participants must be at least 18 years old, according to the same source.
