Significant Snowfall in Several Provinces of the Kingdom

Several provinces across the Kingdom have recorded significant snowfall between Monday and Tuesday, according to the reports from the General Directorate of Meteorology. This winter weather event primarily affected mountainous areas, with varying snow depths from the slopes to the peaks, confirming the return of cold weather to a large part of the country.
The Province of Azilal Heavily Impacted
In Azilal province, snowfall reached significant levels, especially in high-altitude areas. The summits of Mount Ayyoui and Mount Mouriq recorded up to 40 cm of snow, while several localities, such as Zaouiat Ahnssal, Asm Souk, and Tinkarf, experienced accumulations ranging from 10 to 20 cm on the slopes.
Ifrane Among the Most Affected Regions
Ifrane province is one of the areas most impacted by this snowfall episode. In Michlifen and Hebri, snow depth exceeded 70 cm at the peaks, while the surrounding towns and villages, including Ifrane, Oued Ifrane, and Timahdite, registered substantial accumulations ranging from 30 to 45 cm.
Moderate Snowfall in Midelt and Taza
In the provinces of Midelt and Taza, snowfall was of moderate intensity. In Boumia, within Midelt province, accumulations reached approximately 25 cm at the peaks, while the regions of Bouiblane and Bab Boudir in Taza province recorded between 10 and 15 cm of snow.
A Winter Episode Under Observation
These snowfalls are occurring within a context of marked cold affecting several regions of the Kingdom, particularly at higher altitudes. Meteorological services are urging caution, especially for mountain travel, due to the risks of traffic disruptions and challenging weather conditions.
