On Friday, the Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RS Berkane) announced the successful surgery of its goalkeeper and Moroccan international, Mounir El Mohamedi, who was injured during his time with the national team at the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations.

In a statement released on its official Instagram account, the club specified that Mounir El Mohamedi underwent shoulder surgery on Friday morning at a clinic in Spain, adding that the operation was successful.

RS Berkane expressed its support for its goalkeeper, wishing him a speedy recovery and a quick return to the field. For his part, El Mohamedi reassured his fans with a message posted on his Instagram story: “Praise God, I will come back stronger.”

An Estimated Absence of Three Months

It’s worth noting that the Moroccan goalkeeper suffered a dislocation of his right shoulder during a training session, just 48 hours before the AFCON final. His estimated recovery time is about three months.
