Weather in Morocco: Relatively Cold Temperatures, Fog, and Scattered Showers Expected This Monday

The National Directorate of Meteorology forecasts a relatively cold to locally chilly weather across several regions of Morocco this Monday, particularly in the Atlas and Rif mountains, as well as the high plateaus and the southeast of the country, especially during the morning and night.

Low Clouds and Fog in Several Regions

Dense low clouds are expected to form over the northern and central Atlantic plains, the Oulmès region, the Saïss area, and the northern Oriental region, likely resulting in patches of fog or local mist.

The sky will also be partially cloudy over the Rif, the Atlas, the Mediterranean coastline, the Oriental region, and the northwest of the country, with some light scattered showers.

Rain Expected Overnight

Additional rain or local showers are anticipated during the second half of the night over the northern and central Atlantic plains, the western Mediterranean coast, Saïss, the Oulmès area, the Atlas mountains, and northern Oriental region.

Gusty Winds and Localized Dust Storms

Strong gusts of wind are also forecasted for the central coastline and southern provinces, as well as locally in the southeast, potentially leading to dust storms in certain areas.

Temperatures

The minimum temperatures will range from -5 to 0°C in the Atlas mountains, between 0 and 6°C in the Rif, the high plateaus, and the eastern slopes of the Atlas. They will fluctuate between 8 and 15°C in the southeast and Saharan provinces, and between 5 and 8°C in the rest of the Kingdom.

Throughout the day, temperatures are expected to see a slight drop in the Oriental region, southeast, and northern plains, while experiencing a slight increase or remaining relatively stable elsewhere.

Sea Conditions

The sea will be calm to slightly rough in the Strait, moderately rough between Tangier and Larache, and rough to very rough along the rest of the Moroccan coastline.
