Official Cancellation of the “Finalissima” Between Argentina and Spain in Doha

Qatar 2026 Football Festival Canceled
The local committee responsible for organizing the Qatar 2026 Football Festival has announced the cancellation of the event, which was set to feature the “Finalissima” match between the national teams of Argentina and Spain. The festival was originally scheduled to take place from March 26 to 31 in Doha.
In a statement released on Sunday, the organizers explained that this decision was made due to ongoing disruptions in air travel and travel restrictions, which continue to impact the ability of many supporters, players, and officials to attend.
The committee further noted that after discussions with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), all parties agreed that relocating the match at this stage was the most suitable option.
Additionally, the organizers confirmed that all fans who purchased tickets for the festival will receive a full refund, which will be processed automatically through the payment method used at the time of purchase. International supporters who acquired travel packages through agencies will also be contacted directly to finalize refund procedures.
As a reminder, the Qatar Football Festival was set to host a showdown between Argentina, champions of the Copa América, and Spain, winners of Euro 2024, for the “Finalissima” trophy at the Lusail International Stadium.
