The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts relatively cold weather across several regions of the Kingdom this Tuesday, March 17, especially in the mountainous areas of the Atlas and the Rif, as well as the high plateaus of the Oriental region.

According to the forecast, localized rain and occasional thunderstorms are expected in the eastern parts of the Saharan provinces. The sky will also be partly cloudy throughout the day, with the possibility of light scattered rain, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, affecting central regions, the southeast, the High Atlas, and northern Saharan provinces.

Cloud cover is expected to increase in the evening over central regions, the northern Atlantic plains, the High Atlas and its western slopes, as well as in the southeast of the country, with localized thunderstorms anticipated.

Strong gusts of wind are also expected in the Tangier region, the Atlas mountains, as well as in central and southern regions. Snowfall is anticipated on the peaks of the High Atlas beginning in the evening.

As for minimum temperatures, they will range from -2 to 5 degrees Celsius in the Atlas ranges and the high plateaus of the Oriental region, from 5 to 10 degrees Celsius along the Mediterranean coast, the Rif, and the southeast, and from 15 to 23 degrees Celsius in the Souss region and southern parts of the country. In the rest of the Kingdom, minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius.

Maximum temperatures will see a decrease in central and southern regions, while a slight increase is expected in other parts of the country.

Regarding sea conditions, the Mediterranean front will be calm to choppy, with moderate to strong waves between Mehdia and Cap Ghir, and generally calm to choppy on the remaining coasts.
