Wydad Athletic Club Appoints Patrice Carteron as Head Coach

Wydad Athletic Club has officially announced the appointment of French coach Patrice Carteron as the head of its first team for the upcoming season, succeeding Moroccan technician Mohamed Amine Benhachem.

In an official statement, the Casablanca-based club extended a warm welcome to its new coach, expressing hopes for his success in leading the team toward results that match the ambitions of the club and its supporters.

This appointment comes amidst a reorganization phase following the mutual termination of Benhachem’s contract, which occurred after Wydad’s elimination in the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup against Olympique de Safi.

It’s noteworthy that Carteron is already familiar with the Moroccan league, having previously managed Raja Club Athletic in 2019. During his tenure, he notably secured the CAF Super Cup in 2019 and delivered strong results with the “Greens.”
