Tafraout Welcomes the 13th Edition of the Festival

The town of Tafraout will host the 13th edition of the Almond Tree Festival from April 9 to 12, 2026. This event is organized by the Louz Tafraout Association in partnership with several public institutions and private stakeholders.

Under the theme “Land of Almond Trees, Terroir of the Future,” this festival aims to enhance the agricultural and cultural heritage of the region.

A Key Event for Territorial Development

The Almond Tree Festival has become an essential national gathering, highlighting the significance of the almond tree as a driver of economic, social, and cultural development. This year’s edition will also feature an official delegation to monitor ongoing projects and launch new initiatives.

Promoting Local Products and Crafts

In support of local economic development, the festival will dedicate a space for cooperatives and craft associations to showcase and sell their products. An exhibition of agricultural and artisanal goods will bring together vendors from various regions of the Kingdom, fostering the exchange of experiences and showcasing local expertise.

A Scientific, Cultural, and Festive Program

This edition’s program stands out for its richness and diversity. It will include the “Tafraout Scientific Days,” gathering renowned researchers and experts. Additionally, artistic and folkloric performances will celebrate the diversity of Moroccan cultural heritage, alongside sports and recreational activities aimed at all audiences.

Highlighting Amazigh Heritage

The festival places particular emphasis on the preservation of intangible heritage, notably through the promotion of the “Idernan” ritual. This traditional practice embodies the values of solidarity and mutual assistance while reflecting the authenticity and richness of Amazigh identity.

A Lever for Tourism and the Local Economy

Beyond its festive aspect, the Almond Tree Festival contributes to territorial development by enhancing the tourist, economic, and cultural appeal of Tafraout. The event will feature site visits to major projects and the introduction of new initiatives, attended by figures from various sectors, further confirming its strategic role in the region.
