Morocco Honored at a Master Class in Berlin Dedicated to SMEs

Morocco Showcased in Berlin: A Master Class for Future SMEs
On Wednesday in Berlin, Morocco was prominently featured during a master class organized as part of the Future Day for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This event brought together executives from major German companies interested in investing in the Kingdom, along with representatives from businesses already established in Morocco.
An Attractive Market for German Investors
This gathering served as a unique opportunity for participants to exchange experiences, highlighting the advantages of the Moroccan market. The Kingdom was presented as an appealing destination due to its favorable economic environment, competitive production costs, a skilled workforce, and its strategic geographical proximity to Europe.
Speakers emphasized that these advantages position Morocco as a credible alternative for companies looking to expand beyond the European Union.
A Strategic Industrial and Logistics Platform
Discussions also underscored Morocco’s growing role as an industrial and logistics platform. The country is gradually becoming a key link in German value chains, particularly for activities relocated outside the European Union.
Amid international uncertainty, Morocco’s stability is seen as a pivotal factor for attracting and securing investments.
Growing German Interest
According to Zakaria Kourti, director of the German SME Union office in Morocco, this master class is part of an initiative aimed at showcasing the organization’s strategic partners. He noted that Morocco is generating increasing interest among the German business community.
This enthusiasm is supported by several German institutional actors, including the German Agency for International Cooperation, which views Morocco as a priority country for facilitating the establishment of German businesses, especially SMEs.
Responding to the Needs of the German Economy
Kourti also explained that this interest addresses specific needs within the German economy, particularly concerning the recruitment of qualified human resources, which have become harder to find in Germany, especially in key sectors like automotive and advanced technologies.
In this context, Morocco emerges as a preferred partner, offering both skills and competitiveness.
One Year of Activity for the Office in Morocco
Additionally, Kourti reviewed the first year of operations for the German SME Union office in Morocco. He highlighted the swift establishment of a network of partners and the signing of multiple cooperation agreements with Moroccan and German institutions.
The office has also organized economic missions to Morocco, including a high-level visit to the southern provinces, aimed at exploring investment opportunities and strengthening bilateral economic relations.
An Organization Supporting SMEs
Founded over fifty years ago, the German SME Union is a major organization representing the interests of small and medium-sized enterprises across various sectors. It unites dozens of professional associations and more than 900,000 businesses throughout Germany, with a network of over 300 national offices and 80 international offices, including one in Morocco.
