The Lionesses of the Atlas Rise in the FIFA Rankings

The Morocco women’s national football team has made significant progress in the latest ranking published by the FIFA, climbing three places to reach the 63rd position globally.

A Slight Increase in Points

The Atlas Lionesses now total 1401.90 points, marking an increase of 1.01 points compared to the previous ranking, due to varying results recorded during their recent matches.

Advancement on the Continental Level

On the African stage, the Moroccan women’s team has risen to fourth place, surpassing Zambia, and is now positioned behind Nigeria, South Africa, and Ghana, thus affirming its growing strength in continental football.

Spain Still in the Lead

Globally, the Spain women’s national football team retains the top spot with 2096.52 points, followed by the United States and Germany. England holds the fourth position, while Japan completes the top five.

Two Friendly Matches in Preparation

As part of its preparation for upcoming competitions, the national team will play two friendly matches against Tanzania and Ghana on April 13 and 17 at the Moulay Hassan Stadium, in anticipation of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for this summer in Morocco.
