Nasser Bourita Participates in an Extraordinary League of Arab States Meeting on Iranian Attacks Against Arab Countries

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, participated in an extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, which was held via videoconference.
A Meeting Dedicated to a Tense Regional Situation
This meeting focused on examining the “illegal Iranian attacks against several Arab countries” as well as Iran’s commitments under international law, against the backdrop of increasing regional tensions and their repercussions on security and stability.
Toward a Unified Arab Position
This gathering is part of a series of Arab consultations aimed at coordinating positions in response to attacks attributed to Iran, with the goal of reaching a unified stance to limit tensions and preserve the stability of Arab states.
Morocco’s Position: Condemnation and Solidarity
In this context, the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, reiterated its firm condemnation of any aggression aimed at Arab countries, expressing full solidarity with these states as well as support for all measures taken to defend their sovereignty and ensure the security of their populations, in accordance with international law.
Positive Reception of the Ceasefire and Negotiations
Morocco also welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, as well as the initiation of negotiations between the two parties, expressing hope that this would lead to a political agreement capable of ending the tensions in the region.
A Region in Tension
This meeting was held at the invitation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which currently holds the presidency of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, in a regional context marked by caution and anticipation following the announcement of the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran.
