Tétouan: New Structural Agricultural Projects

The Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Waters and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari, conducted a field visit to the Tétouan province on Saturday, during which he launched several structural projects aimed at modernizing agricultural infrastructure.
A Visit Focused on Integrated Rural Development
Accompanied by local authorities and representatives from the agricultural sector, the minister visited several projects designed to boost the economic and agricultural dynamics of the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region.
These projects are part of a comprehensive vision for sustainable territorial development.
The Green Belt of Tétouan: A Key Project
The minister visited the Tétouan Green Belt project, a one-kilometer infrastructure requiring an investment of 28 million dirhams.
This project aims to:
- enhance territorial connectivity
- open up rural areas
- improve access to public services
- facilitate agricultural marketing
- promote rural tourism
Modernization of the Wholesale Market
Ahmed El Bouari also inaugurated the construction of a modern platform dedicated to the storage and management of goods in the wholesale market.
This 6,000 m² facility, with an investment of 5.5 million dirhams, aims to:
- optimize agricultural logistics
- improve product hygiene
- strengthen commercial organization
A Modern Livestock Market in Tétouan
The minister also launched a new generation livestock market.
This 3.5-hectare project, with a budget of 30 million dirhams, includes:
- covered and open sales spaces
- administrative offices
- modern reception facilities
This market will enhance the organization of the sector and improve sanitary conditions.
A Poultry Slaughterhouse to Modern Standards
In this context, a modern poultry slaughterhouse has been launched on a surface area of 7,000 m², with an investment of 30 million dirhams.
This project aims to:
- enhance health standards
- improve product quality
- modernize the poultry production chain
A Comprehensive Vision for Agricultural Modernization
According to Bouchra Lmoufid, the provincial director of agriculture in Tétouan, these projects reflect the ministry’s commitment to:
- modernize agricultural infrastructure
- strengthen marketing channels
