Stellantis Opens an Industrial Center in Casablanca Dedicated to Circular Automotive Economy

The automotive group Stellantis has inaugurated its first automotive dismantling center in Casablanca, dedicated to circular economy initiatives in the Africa-Middle East (MEA) region. This new industrial unit marks a strategic milestone in the development of a sustainable automotive parts reuse industry in Morocco.

An Industrial Investment in Casablanca

Located in Ain Sebaâ, covering an area of 6,000 m², this facility represents an investment of €1.6 million (over 16 million dirhams).

It will process up to 10,000 end-of-life vehicles and generate approximately 150 direct and indirect jobs.

A Structuring Project for the Circular Economy

This center is the third of its kind globally for the group, following those in Turin (Italy) and São Paulo (Brazil).

It aims to organize and structure the end-of-life vehicle (ELV) processing sector in Morocco while promoting the reuse of original automotive parts.

The industrial process includes several stages:

  • Vehicle depollution,
  • Targeted dismantling,
  • Recovery of reusable parts,
  • Reintegration into distribution circuits.

A Sustainable Industrial Strategy for the MEA Region

According to Samir Cherfan, Stellantis Operations Director for the MEA region and Global Head of Micromobility, the circular economy is a strategic priority.

It allows for:

  • Balancing industrial performance and sustainability,
  • Reducing resource consumption,
  • Enhancing parts accessibility for customers,
  • Strengthening the group’s industrial presence in the region.

Strengthening the After-Sales Network

The Casablanca facility will also contribute to enriching the supply of reused parts within Stellantis’s after-sales network, as well as on specialized digital platforms.

This initiative is expected to improve parts availability while reducing the environmental impact of the automotive sector.

A Strategic Position for Morocco

With this establishment, Casablanca confirms its role as a regional industrial hub in the automotive field and circular economy.

Morocco thus solidifies its position within sustainable and innovative industrial value chains.

The opening of this automotive dismantling center illustrates Stellantis’s commitment to a more sustainable industrial model while enhancing Morocco’s attractiveness as a major industrial platform in the Africa-Middle East region.
