World Cup 2026: Visa, Flights, Accommodation… A Guide for Moroccan Supporters

The Moroccan Embassy in the United States has officially launched its support framework for the 2026 World Cup, through the publication of a digital practical guide and a video capsule aimed at the thousands of Moroccan supporters expected to arrive in the United States.

This digital one-stop-shop centralizes all essential information to facilitate and secure the stay of the Atlas Lions fans during the competition.

Visa and Formalities: Key Steps for Entering the United States

The embassy reminds supporters that ticket purchases must be made exclusively through the official FIFA platform to obtain the “FIFA Pass,” a document required to access visa appointments at U.S. consulates.

Supporters are also required to obtain travel insurance that covers medical expenses and hospitalization in the United States.

The six steps to obtaining a B1/B2 visa are as follows:

  • Select the B1/B2 tourist visa
  • Carefully complete the DS-160 form
  • Pay the non-refundable application fee
  • Schedule a visa appointment at the U.S. consulate in Casablanca
  • Attend the interview with all required documents
  • Track the passport processing after the consular decision

An Extensive Air Transportation Network to the United States

To facilitate travel for Moroccan supporters, Royal Air Maroc will provide direct flights from Casablanca to:

  • New York
  • Washington
  • Miami
  • Los Angeles

The offering will be supplemented by partner airlines, including United Airlines with routes from Marrakech to New York, and Delta Air Lines offering flights to Atlanta.

For travel between U.S. cities, the guide recommends domestic flights, the rail network, and ride-sharing applications like Uber and Lyft.

The Atlas Lions’ Matches During the Group Phase

The document also details the cities that will host Morocco’s matches during the group phase:

  • June 13: Morocco vs. Brazil – MetLife Stadium (New York/New Jersey)
  • June 19: Morocco vs. Scotland – Boston (Gillette Stadium)
  • June 24: Morocco vs. Haiti – Atlanta (Mercedes-Benz Stadium)

This planning aims to help supporters anticipate their accommodation and transportation bookings.

Accommodation, Payments, and Connectivity: Practical Recommendations

The embassy advises travelers to book their accommodation as early as possible to secure the best rates. Hotel bookings generally require an international credit card.

Regarding payments, credit cards remain the preferred method in the United States. Any amount exceeding $10,000 brought into or out of the U.S. must be declared to customs authorities.

Supporters are also encouraged to activate international roaming before departing or to purchase a U.S. SIM card upon arrival. It is recommended to ensure that mobile phones are not locked to a single carrier.

Enhanced Consular Assistance During the Competition

Throughout the World Cup, the Moroccan consular network in the United States will establish an assistance unit available 24/7.

Mobile consulates will also be deployed in each city hosting Morocco’s matches.

Emergency Numbers:

  • Washington DC: +1 (202) 499-1050
  • New York: +1 (212) 758-2625
  • Miami: +1 (786) 279-8787

The practical guide is now available on the official portal of the Moroccan Embassy in the United States.
