Sound Energy Morocco: Reducing Losses and Advancing Production at Tendrara

Sound Energy Reports Improved Financial Results and Strategic Developments in Morocco

The British company Sound Energy, engaged in the development of gas projects in Morocco, has reported an improvement in its financial results, marked by a reduction in losses during the last fiscal year, according to its recent financial statements.

This positive trend is primarily attributed to better cost management and the gradual advancement of its energy projects, particularly the development of the Tendrara gas field in eastern Morocco.

The Tendrara natural gas micro-liquefaction project has now emerged as one of the company’s key assets in the country, with commercial production expected to commence in the third quarter of 2026, following several schedule adjustments due to technical delays.

Despite these setbacks, several critical infrastructures associated with the project have already been tested and put into service, including the gas collection system and certain storage units, confirming the progress of the construction site.

Additionally, Sound Energy has bolstered its short-term financial position by raising new funds aimed at supporting its operations and ensuring the continuous development of its projects in Morocco.

The company is also pursuing a strategy of energy diversification, including initiatives in renewable energy, in partnership with local entities to develop solar projects within the Kingdom.

In Morocco, Sound Energy is part of a broader framework aimed at developing the gas and energy sector, focusing on enhancing national energy security and diversifying supply sources.

Thus, the Tendrara project represents a strategic element in the gradual structuring of a local gas sector that is expected to play an increasingly significant role in the country’s energy mix in the coming years.
