Rabat: Over 3.05 million Visitors at the DGSN Open House Days, a Historic Record

DGSN Announces Record Attendance at Open House Event in Rabat

The General Directorate of National Security (Direction Générale de la Sûreté Nationale – DGSN) has announced that the 7th edition of the Open House days, held along the coastal road in Rabat from May 18 to May 24, 2026, saw an unprecedented attendance of over 3.05 million visitors.

This exceptional turnout reflects, according to the DGSN, the growing interest among citizens in this initiative, which has become a major annual event for institutional communication. The high participation rates included diverse social categories, particularly a large number of students, prompting the extension of the event by an additional two days, on May 23 and 24.

In total, nearly 2,000 public and private educational institutions participated in this edition, along with 1,472 civil society organizations and representatives from 217 national and international media outlets.

The site, designed as a real "secure city" in an open-air setting, welcomed visitors from various cities across the Kingdom, including Rabat, Salé, Témara, Kénitra, and Casablanca. It provided an immersive experience blending discovery, learning, and entertainment.

The DGSN also ensured extensive digital coverage of the event, generating over 27 million views on its official platforms, and facilitating 1,723 media activities aimed at various press outlets.

Spanning more than 13 hectares, this edition featured thematic areas structured into professional hubs covering topics such as technology, intervention units, forensics, human resource management, and the history of the institution. A 3D projection room was also established to illustrate crime scene management techniques.

Among the major attractions were the intelligent patrol systems "Amaan" and "Madaa," as well as the electronic operational system "TACTIS," showcasing the growing integration of artificial intelligence into the tools used by Moroccan police.

The event also presented a retrospective of equipment and vehicles used since the establishment of the DGSN 70 years ago, highlighting the technological evolution of the institution.

A dedicated space for children, covering 1,000 square meters, offered educational and recreational activities, including virtual reality experiences, as well as demonstrations from mounted units, canine units, special forces, and police music.

Academically, several conferences were organized on themes such as school safety, combating financial and economic crime, border security, and modernizing police recruitment.

In partnership with the Moroccan Blood and Derivatives Agency, a blood donation area was also set up, mobilizing over 1,000 donors and demonstrating a spirit of civic solidarity.

The closure of this edition was marked by an official ceremony at the DGSN headquarters, attended by civil and military dignitaries, as well as figures from national sports, including members of the national football team.

The DGSN emphasizes that this initiative is part of a "community policing" strategy aimed at enhancing the institution’s openness to its social environment and fostering a participatory approach to security based on transparency and cooperation with citizens.
