Relative warmth, sustained winds, and rough seas along the southern coast.

Weather Forecast: Heatwave Expected in Several Regions of Morocco

According to the forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology, this Friday will be marked by relatively warm to locally high temperatures in several regions across the Kingdom. This situation particularly affects the Southeast, the extreme South of the country, the Saïss region, the Moulouya Valley, the Oriental area, and some plains located west of the Atlas Mountains.

These conditions indicate the continuation of an early summer in the interior areas, with significant temperature differences between the coastal regions and those inland.

Morning Fog and Low Clouds

During the night and into the early morning hours, low clouds accompanied by patches of fog are expected along the Atlantic coasts, the northwest of the southern provinces, as well as on the Mediterranean front. These cloud formations may bring very light local precipitation before gradually dissipating throughout the day.

Relatively Strong Winds and Dust Uplift

The meteorological report also predicts fairly strong wind gusts along the coasts, in the central plains, the Oriental region, and the southern part of the Kingdom. These winds could locally cause dust uplift, especially in desert and semi-arid areas, which may reduce visibility at times.

Temperature Variations: Day and Night

Minimum temperatures will range between 20 and 25°C in the Southeast and extreme South of the country. In mountainous areas, they will vary between 6 and 12°C, while the rest of the Kingdom will record temperatures between 15 and 20°C.

Regarding maximum temperatures, a slight increase is expected in the regions of Tangier, Saïss, Middle Atlas, and the Oriental. Elsewhere, temperatures should remain stable or see a slight decrease.

Sea Conditions

The sea will be generally calm to slightly choppy in the Mediterranean and the Strait of Gibraltar. Between Tangier and Assilah, it will be slightly choppy to choppy, while further south along the Atlantic coasts of Morocco, conditions will become rough to very rough, necessitating particular caution from fishermen and sea users.

A Hot and Windy Friday

Overall, this Friday will be characterized by warm weather across much of the interior of the country, accompanied by sometimes strong winds and rough maritime conditions along the southern coasts. Meteorological authorities recommend monitoring the forecasts regularly, especially in regions exposed to strong winds and dust phenomena.
