Morocco to Become the Top Recipient of AfDB Funding in 2025, Ahead of South Africa and Nigeria

In 2025, Morocco emerged as the leading beneficiary of funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB), surpassing South Africa, Nigeria, and Côte d’Ivoire. With commitments amounting to approximately €1.26 billion—an all-time high—the Kingdom accounts for more than 13% of the institution’s total approvals for the year.
