Women Summit 2026: Women’s Entrepreneurship at the Heart of Sustainable Growth in Africa

Gathered in Casablanca for the fourth edition of the Women Summit 2026, institutional leaders, economic decision-makers, and civil society actors emphasized the strategic role of women in Africa’s economic development. Initiatives aimed at promoting female entrepreneurship and economic inclusion were central to the discussions.
Casablanca Hosts the Fourth Edition of the Women Summit 2026
Under the honorary presidency of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, the fourth edition of the Women Summit 2026 was held in Casablanca under the theme: “Atlantic Initiative: Women Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Growth in Africa”.
This meeting falls within the framework of the Atlantic Initiative launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aimed at strengthening regional integration and promoting shared development among countries along the Atlantic coast of Africa.
Women as Drivers of Economic Transformation
In his opening remarks, the Minister of Industry and Commerce stressed that women are not merely beneficiaries of development policies but serve as a genuine lever for economic and social transformation.
This vision aligns with the High Royal Directions that endorse the active participation of Moroccan women across various sectors of national development.
Encouraging Indicators for Moroccan Industry
On this occasion, several indicators showcasing the progress made were presented. The rate of female representation in the Moroccan industry reached 40.8% by 2025, while women now account for 32.4% of the structured commerce sector.
These figures highlight the increasing participation of women within the national economic fabric.
She Industria and We-Fi to Support Female Entrepreneurship
The ministry also highlighted key programs aimed at enhancing the economic empowerment of women.
The She Industria program aims to support 2,200 women and facilitate the creation of 450 industrial projects led by female entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, the We-Fi program will allow 1,500 businesses to enhance their digital skills to improve their competitiveness. This approach prioritizes capacity development, support, and innovation as levers for sustainable economic inclusion.
