This level of compensation places the Kingdom among the countries with the lowest average annual salaries on the list, displaying a significant gap compared to the leading economies.
Switzerland tops the ranking with an average annual salary of $102,841, followed by Australia at $64,226 and the United States with an average of $53,939.
Over 60 Million Job Offers Analyzed
The report is based on a vast database that includes more than 60 million job offers published across over 70 countries, as well as salary information voluntarily provided by users of the platform.
This data allows for the tracking of salary trends and the comparison of salary levels among various labor markets.
Morocco Ranks 11th Regionally
Regionally, Morocco is positioned 11th out of 15 countries within a grouping of economies from Asia, Africa, and Oceania.
However, the Kingdom has experienced a 10% increase in its average annual salary, reaching around $6,900. It now trails just behind Malaysia in this regional ranking.
The Philippines holds the 12th place with an average annual salary of approximately $4,800, despite having more than 115,000 job offers containing salary data.
Next is India with an average of $3,106, followed by Pakistan at about $2,813. Nigeria anchors the ranking with an average annual salary of only $1,297, even with a substantial increase of 21.9%.
Persistent Gaps with Higher-Paying Economies
Globally, Morocco falls between Guatemala, ranked 35th with an average annual salary of $7,691, and Equador, ranked 37th with $6,753.
At the bottom of the global ranking, both the Dominican Republic and Brazil report an average annual salary of approximately $6,136. Colombia occupies the 40th and final position with an average of $6,030.
These results highlight the persistent disparities in compensation levels worldwide, both between developed economies and emerging markets, as well as within different regions.
For Morocco, the salary level reported in this ranking reflects ongoing challenges related to income and productivity, despite a relative improvement in compensation.
The 10% increase in the average salary is a positive indicator compared to previous periods. However, the gap with economies that feature the highest income levels remains considerable.
In this context, enhancing productivity, developing higher value-added jobs, and strengthening skills are essential levers to sustainably support wage growth and improve workers’ purchasing power.
