Weather Alert: Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Forecasted in Several Regions of Morocco

Severe Weather Warning Issued by General Directorate of Meteorology
The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange alert, warning of severe weather that will affect several provinces across the Kingdom from Friday to Sunday.
According to the DGM, thunderstorms are expected to bring rain starting Friday at 6 PM and continuing until Saturday at 9 AM, with accumulations ranging from 20 to 40 millimeters in the provinces of Chefchaouen and Ouezzane.
Further significant rainfall, estimated between 40 and 70 millimeters, is anticipated from Friday at 3 PM to Saturday at 11 PM in the provinces of Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Errachidia, Midelt, Taroudant, and Azilal.
Other areas will also be affected, including Fquih Ben Salah, Settat, Rehamna, Khouribga, and El Kelaa des Sraghna, where accumulations of 30 to 50 millimeters are expected from Saturday at 3 PM to Sunday at 6 AM.
In addition to rainfall, strong local gusts of wind, accompanied by dust storms, are forecasted to reach speeds of 75 to 90 km/h. This phenomenon is expected to occur from Friday at 11 AM through to Saturday at 6 PM, particularly impacting the provinces of Guercif, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, Jerada, Figuig, Boulemane, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, and Midelt.
Authorities urge citizens to remain vigilant and recommend closely following weather updates to avoid any dangers associated with these climatic conditions.
