Pharmaceutical Group Sothema Acquires Ramo Pharm for Complete Market Expansion
On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, in Casablanca, Moroccan pharmaceutical group Sothema announced the signing of an agreement to acquire 100% of Ramo Pharm, a company specializing in dietary supplements. This acquisition is part of Sothema’s development strategy and aims to establish a new business sphere dedicated to wellness and consumer health, referred to as “Wellness & Consumer Health.”
Founded in 1999 and based in Casablanca, Ramo Pharm boasts a portfolio of well-recognized brands in the Moroccan market, including Enrouex®, ZENmag®, Toudex®, Hivernex®, CD Zinc®, and Matervit®. The company’s products cover multiple health segments, such as ENT (ear, nose, and throat), immunity, stress and sleep management, as well as women’s health. They have experienced sustained growth and have a well-established presence in the Moroccan pharmacy network. Ramo Pharm also has a pipeline of innovative products in development, geared towards supporting its growth prospects.
For Sothema, this acquisition aligns with the evolving expectations of patients regarding prevention, wellness, and naturally sourced health solutions. The group intends to leverage the growth potential of the dietary supplement market by combining the expertise and strengths of both companies.
The operation is expected to strengthen and enrich the brand portfolio, consolidate the positions of existing products, and accelerate the development and launch of new innovative solutions. Sothema also plans to support the international development of this activity by leveraging its presence and distribution networks abroad, while capitalizing on the operational synergies between the two groups to foster growth and scale.
This acquisition fits within Sothema’s new strategic organization, which aims to structure its activities around four therapeutic areas: General Medicine & Chronic Care, Specialty Products, Dialysis Solutions, and Wellness & Consumer Health.
Lamia Tazi, CEO of Sothema, emphasized that the future of a health group hinges on its ability to support patients at every stage of their journey. She views the acquisition of Ramo Pharm as the starting point for an ambitious development platform, built on strong brands and the complementary expertise of both companies, with the goal of accelerating portfolio growth in Morocco and internationally.
On his part, Karim Akouz, managing partner at Ramo Pharm, noted that the company has been built over the years on quality, efficacy, and innovation, aiming to earn the trust of patients and healthcare professionals. He believes that Sothema is a suitable partner to maintain this spirit, continue the momentum, and give a new dimension to the project.
Founded in 1976, Sothema is celebrating fifty years of expertise in the manufacturing and marketing of medicines, dietary supplements, and medical devices in 2026. The group relies on licensed products from long-standing partnerships with 50 leading laboratories, as well as its own ranges of generic medicines and biosimilars. This enables it to make innovative treatments accessible across most therapeutic areas in Morocco, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East.
