Royal Air Maroc Launches New Direct Route Between Essaouira and Casablanca
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) inaugurated its new direct air route between Essaouira and Casablanca on Wednesday. Set to commence on November 1, 2026, this service aims to enhance connectivity between Moroccan cities and support the region’s tourism and economic development.
This initiative is the result of a collaboration among several government departments, regional authorities, and the national airline. The new route will operate with two round trips per week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. Thanks to a subsidy program, the fare has been set at 400 dirhams per one-way trip in economy class.
During the event, André Azoulay, advisor to King Mohammed VI and president-founder of the Essaouira-Mogador Association, emphasized the significance of this connection for the city’s tourism development and the promotion of its historical and cultural heritage.
Abdessamad Kayouh, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, indicated that this initiative is part of RAM’s strategy leading up to 2030, which aims to enhance domestic links and make air travel more accessible.
