Ryanair Strengthens Its Presence in Morocco with 5.3 Million Seats for Winter

Ryanair Looks to Strengthen Strategic Partnership with Morocco’s National Tourism Office
Eddie Wilson, the CEO of Ryanair, visited Rabat on Tuesday to solidify the airline’s strategic partnership with the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT). For the winter season of 2026-2027, the airline plans to offer a record 5.3 million seats across 156 routes, including 17 new destinations.
This expansion marks a significant step in Ryanair’s development in Morocco, driven by the ONMT’s strategy to enhance the Kingdom’s air connectivity and attract more tourists from new markets.
During the meeting, Eddie Wilson emphasized the airline’s commitment to the Moroccan market, highlighting the launch of new routes from Rabat, Agadir, and Marrakech. He also mentioned Ryanair’s technological investments aimed at streamlining the passenger experience at airports.
To support its expansion, Ryanair is opening a new base in Rabat, which will be the airline’s fifth in Morocco, and assigning two additional aircraft to the region. Ryanair now operates 16 planes based in Morocco, representing a total investment of $1.6 billion and supporting over 8,500 local jobs.
The enhancement of the airline network will also benefit several destinations beyond the main tourist hubs, including Fes, Tetouan, Essaouira, Ouarzazate, Dakhla, and Nador.
For the ONMT, this development aligns with a strategy to increase air capacity, diversify source markets, and strengthen connections with Europe. It also reflects Ryanair’s confidence in Morocco’s tourism potential and the growth prospects for the sector.
