GITEX Africa 2025: Marrakech at the Heart of the Continent’s Digital Transformation

The third edition of GITEX Africa, the largest technological and entrepreneurial gathering in Africa, officially kicked off this Monday in Marrakech. This year’s event brings together nearly 45,000 participants and over 1,400 exhibitors from more than 130 countries, underscoring its growing international prominence.

Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the opening ceremony featured a video message from the Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch, alongside several ministers, national and international investors, and many influential figures from the technology and institutional spheres.

The 2025 edition of GITEX Africa stands out with a rich program: focused sector conferences, innovative initiatives in the creative industries, and high-value networking forums. These elements make the event a prime platform for exchange and strategic partnerships.

Organized by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, in partnership with the Digital Development Agency (ADD), this gathering aims to strengthen synergies among governments, investors, startups, and digital leaders across the continent.

Among the key highlights is the “Africa Future Connectivity” summit, a strategic space dedicated to issues of high-speed internet, 5G, and cloud computing, while encouraging public-private partnerships to build Africa’s digital future.

The Diaspora Studio is also a notable innovation at this edition: a space designed to connect African talents from around the world, stimulate transnational investments, and facilitate the transfer of expertise to local tech ecosystems.

Finally, the expo shines a spotlight on strategically expanding sectors: EdTech (education), AgriTech (agriculture), HealthTech (health), and SportsTech (sports), illustrating the commitment to making technology a vehicle for sustainable socio-economic development for the continent.
