Banque Populaire Foundation: Renovation of Six Schools in the Oriental Region

The Bank Popular Foundation Advances Education in Morocco
The Bank Popular Foundation continues its commitment to education in Morocco through a program aimed at rehabilitating schools in the Oriental region. This initiative has successfully renovated six schools, benefiting 687 students across the provinces of Berkane and Taourirt.
An official ceremony marked the completion of the renovations at the Achourafa school, located in the Berkane province. Attendees included officials from the Oujda branch of the Bank Popular, representatives from the Foundation, and regional educational authorities from the Oriental AREF (Regional Academy of Education and Training).
This program is part of a broader initiative already undertaken by the Foundation, which has contributed to the rehabilitation of 18 schools nationwide. In this new regional phase, four schools were renovated in Berkane and two in Taourirt, thereby enhancing the learning conditions for the students involved.
The renovation work included updating school infrastructures, such as repainting buildings, improving water resistance, rehabilitating sanitary facilities, and developing green spaces and playgrounds to enhance the school environment.
Achourafa school has also been integrated into the Eco-School program of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, further emphasizing the environmental and educational dimensions of the project.
In addition to this initiative, a book distribution operation was organized in partnership with the Sapress-Sochepress Group for the benefit of students at the participating schools, aimed at promoting reading and access to culture.
Through this program, the Bank Popular Foundation reaffirms its commitment to education, equal opportunities, and combating school dropout rates, making tangible improvements to learning conditions in the targeted areas.
