Ali Fassi Fihri, Former Head of ONEE, Passes Away at 71
Ali Fassi Fihri, the former director-general of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE), passed away this Sunday at the age of 71 after a long illness, as reported by sources close to his family.
Born in Kénitra, the late Fassi Fihri made significant contributions across various strategic sectors in Morocco, combining public management, energy, and institutional governance throughout his career. He notably led ONEE for several years, playing a vital role in the development of the Kingdom’s electrical and hydraulic infrastructure.
Fassi Fihri also held several high-profile positions, including the presidency of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board of the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen). He also served as the chairman of the board of directors of LafargeHolcim Morocco.
Moreover, he was a member of numerous national and international organizations, where he shared his expertise in energy, governance, and strategic management.
