Friday’s Weather: Thunderstorms Expected and Slight Temperature Increase in Several Regions of the Kingdom

The General Directorate of Meteorology predicts relatively unstable weather across several regions of the Kingdom this Friday, May 8, 2026. The day will be marked by occasionally stormy rains and a slight rise in temperatures over much of the territory.
Thunderstorms in the Rif Region
According to the weather forecast, light to moderate rains, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected in the Rif region, particularly during the night. The Middle Atlas will also experience partially dense cloud cover with occasional scattered showers.
Wind Gusts and Dust Storms
Strong gusts of wind are anticipated in the southern Oriental, southeast, and the southern provinces. These winds could lead to localized dust storms, especially in desert and open areas.
Mild Temperature Increase
Minimum temperatures will range from 0 to 7°C in the mountainous areas of the Atlas and Rif, between 17 and 20°C in the southernmost part of the country and southeast, and from 7 to 12°C across the rest of the Kingdom. Maximum temperatures, on the other hand, are expected to see a slight increase in most regions.
Sea Conditions
The sea will be generally calm to slightly choppy in the Mediterranean, the Strait, as well as north of Mehdia and between Tarfaya and Boujdour. The rest of Morocco’s coast will experience slightly choppy to choppy conditions.
