Marjane Group Partners with Enabel to Boost Youth Employability in Morocco
Marjane Group has entered into a strategic partnership with Enabel, the Belgian Development Agency, as part of the Morocco Horizons Employment program. This initiative aims to enhance the employability of young people, develop professional skills, and support economic inclusion through concrete actions in favor of the Moroccan labor market.
This collaboration aligns with the corporate social responsibility (ESG) strategy of the retail giant, which prioritizes the development of human capital and the creation of sustainable opportunities.
Agreement Signed in Presence of Moroccan and Belgian Officials
The agreement was signed by Mohammed Taha Benzekri, Human Capital Director of Marjane Group, and Benoit Legrand, Country Director of Enabel for Morocco and Tunisia.
The ceremony was attended by Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Enterprises, Employment, and Skills; Mourad Alem, CEO of Marjane Group; Gilles Heyvaert, Belgian Ambassador to Morocco; and Abdellah Chouikh, Director General of ANAPEC.
The signatories emphasized the importance of this cooperation in addressing the transformations of the labor market and responding to the growing demand for skills.
Four Key Areas to Support Professional Integration
The partnership is anchored in four main intervention areas designed to promote professional integration and economic development.
The two partners will collaborate on launching joint initiatives aimed at improving employability and enhancing the skills of beneficiaries. They will also develop training programs tailored to the emerging roles in the retail sector to align with sectoral changes.
Additionally, the agreement aims to improve access for talents supported by the Morocco Horizons Employment program to recruitment opportunities offered by Marjane Group.
Finally, special attention will be given to supporting cooperatives and local economic initiatives, with the goal of enhancing their professionalism, improving their competitiveness, and facilitating their market access.
