The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour, presided over the inauguration of the new industrial unit of PlastikPack Maroc in Sidi Bou Othmane. This subsidiary of the French group SC-Pack specializes in plastic injection and represents an investment of 150 million dirhams. This project marks a significant milestone in the industrial development of the Marrakech-Safi region, attesting to its appeal to investors.
Creating Value and Jobs
The new factory is expected to create 200 jobs and enhance the company’s production capabilities. The site includes a 3,000 m² manufacturing workshop and a nearly 7,000 m² logistics warehouse. It will house the company’s existing equipment, complemented by new production lines that provide added value.
A Broader Product Range to Meet Diverse Sector Needs
Beyond its traditional production of crates for the beverage, agriculture, and industrial sectors, PlastikPack Maroc is now diversifying its offerings with innovative solutions.
The company will manufacture smart crates equipped with RFID technology for the fishing sector, collapsible crates designed to optimize return logistics, single-use plastic pallets for export, and a new range of industrial seals.
Enhanced Production Capacity
The unit will commence operations with eight injection molding presses ranging from 600 to 900 tons, along with a 2,200-ton press dedicated to producing plastic pallets.
Eventually, the site will feature thirteen medium-capacity presses and three presses exceeding 2,000 tons, significantly boosting production while integrating advanced automation levels.
A Catalyst for Industrial Sovereignty
On this occasion, Ryad Mezzour emphasized that this new unit represents a structuring project for the national plastic packaging industry. He noted that this investment will strengthen Morocco’s industrial sovereignty while accelerating the modernization of the sector through innovative packaging solutions that incorporate traceability, reuse, and logistical optimization.
